About Sandcastle on 98
Sandcastle on 98 is a cheerful and clean 1BR vacation condo on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. It is 150 steps from the emerald water and white sand beach. We hope this site helps our guests (and others!) plan their get-away to the Destin/Miramar Beach area with insider info from local explorers Scott and Shelli.
Why “Sandcastle on 98”
Shelli grew up at the beach in sunny Southern California on “Sandcastle Drive”. Her parents bought their house in 1968 and lived there for 40 years before retiring to Arizona. After moving around a bit, in 2020, Scott and Shelli found their way back to the beach (in the great state of Florida this time.) They bought their first vacation condo in 2022 on Scenic Gulf Drive (aka “Old Hwy 98”, aka “Scenic 98″). Paying homage to Shelli’s childhood home…”Sandcastle on 98” was born.

Shelli Foster
Hi, I’m glad you’re here! I love to explore, see new places and try new things. I’m the planner, organizer and itinerary maker when we visit a new locale. I also love helping people and I hope to help you make your visit to Destin/Miramar Beach memorable!
When I’m not working, you can find me exploring the area in my Jeep, laying or walking on the beach, on the water on my SUP, playing tennis, doing crafts, planning our next get-away, doing yardwork, or organizing our house (go ahead, judge me).
I’m a glass-half-full girl. I like to make things fun, I love bright and cheerful colors and I find joy in making others smile.
Scott Foster
Scott in a Veteran Navy diver. He told me to write that he is the “behind the scenes maintenance man” but really he is the entrepreneur, the handyman, the creative one, the writer and photographer…definitely not behind the scenes, but prefers to be unseen.
When he’s not working you can find him exploring, in the yard, reading or watching movies (zombie and sci-fi are his favorities), target shooting, and he’s currently working on fixing up an old Hobie Cat.
